During the pandemic, one of my top requests was from families who were seeking a retreat within their own home. Surprisingly, master retreats are one of the last places people invest in decorating in their homes because, other than resting, it’s not a heavily used space.
The pandemic turned everything around though and the master retreat has quickly become more of an in home sanctuary than just a place to sleep! This is exactly how our Nye Avenue clients approached me and I was happy to oblige, turning an unexciting space into the perfect spot to retreat from the children with a cup of tea!
The inspiration for this space started with one of my favorite Sherwin Williams paint colors; Hale Navy. My client found this bedroom photo one day while browsing for inspiration and knew instantly that she wanted a deep blue accent wall to drive the vibe of the space.

I started this project from my client’s inspiration photo and after three iterations, came up with the final design plan below. One of my favorite things to do when working on a project is to collaborate with the client throughout the design process to ensure each curated piece is resonating with them. In this case, my client wanted to blend her Indian heritage with a touch of modern farmhouse.
How incredible is this custom made headboard we sourced directly from Thailand?
